Empowering Girls: A Menstrual Health Awareness Session - Keeping Girls in School! PERIOD.
We're so grateful to our partners at Ohio University, the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, USA the Athens Period Project,USA and the Women's Center, Ohio University, USA for their incredible support of our recent Research and Menstrual Health Information Session!
Through their generous donations, we were able to provide 40 bags of essential menstrual health supplies to 26 girls at Bakashana Basambilile and Kabundi Primary School and the Self-Confidence Campaign in Kasama, Zambia. Each bag, packed with sanitary pads, hand sanitizer, and tissue, will help these young girls manage their periods with confidence and dignity.
The event was more than just a donation; it was a conversation. The girls actively participated in discussions and activities focused on menstrual health education, breaking down the stigma around menstruation, and creating a safe space to talk about the challenges they face. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this empowering and impactful day!
