  • Jemiima Nalwamba

    Jemiima is an award-winning journalist with with a Diploma in Journalism and Public Relations from the Zambia Institute of Mass Communication (ZAMCOM). With a keen eye for impactful storytelling, but also a passionate advocate for adolescent girls' health in Kasama, Zambia, she llaunched the powerful self-confidence campaign that tackles the critical issue of menstrual poverty.

    This campaign sheds light on the challenges faced by girls who lack access to menstrual hygiene products, raising awareness and driving change. As a partner of the Karis Foundation, her dedication to empowering girls and ensuring their menstrual health promises to create a brighter future for young women in Kasama.

  • Grace Chundama

    Grace, a Fulbright Scholar and a Master of Arts candidate in International Development and Global Health at Ohio University, USA is a passionate force for change. Her academic background, with a Bachelor's in Economics from the Namibian University of Science and Technology fuels her dedication to empowering marginalized girls.

    Founder of the Karis Foundation, Grace tackles educational barriers and menstrual health knowledge gaps in Zambian communities. Her proven track record in project management and analysis, honed during her work on African Development Bank projects, is invaluable to her initiatives.

    Grace's dedication extends beyond her impressive academic achievements, research awards and recognition in the African Union Publication "Inspiring Stories of African Women Leaders," (partnered with UN Women, UN Human Rights, and UNFPA) 2022. She is driven by a desire to see marginalized girls flourish through her work.
